Walnuts and Cancer

http://www.walnut.net.au
A lot of scientific evidence shows that adding walnuts in a healthy diet reduces the risk of heart disease. Walnuts have also been shown to aid in the lowering LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol). In fact, walnuts are a rich source of fiber, Vitamin E and are particularly high in omega 3 fatty acids which are known to be heart healthy.

Apparently more health benefits can be attributed to walnuts according to scientists from the University of California (UC). They found out that eating this type of nuts can actually slow down the growth of tumors. However, the study was done on mice so we cannot really extrapolate the results to human but if research on humans show the same results this could be promising for cancer treatments.

Is it true that walnuts are good for the brain (you know there is resemblance in the shape)?

    1. Well walnuts are rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are essential for brain function. Also certain research have shown that ingestion of walnuts may have an effect on cognition.
