Tomatoes: red or purple ?

According to the article I came across through food science and nutrition, researchers at the Oregon State University, USA, have bred a purple tomato named the "Indigo Rose". This tomato seems to have a higher that normal levels antioxidant content.

The tomatoes we know owe their red color to an antioxidant called "lycopene". The new purple tomato is a novelty since its extremely high in anthocyanins which are flavonoids pigments found in red/purplish fruits and vegetables, including purple cabbage, beets, blueberries, cherries ... This type of antioxidant is know to have many health benefits.
